This morning i tried plugging my usb in and got an error saying e;/ is not accessible request cannot be performed due to an I/O error. i need a fix as i have my college work on it.
This sounds like a permissions issue to me. Have you tried plugging your USB drive to another computer as well? I'd suggest you to do so and check how the drive would get recognized there. Another thing that you should do is Take Ownership of the drive in Windows. It should help you gain access to the contents on the drive.
