I'm a casual gamer 5+ hours a day with breaks I bought a new release gtx 1080 but I have an amd fx 6300 now I know what you are thinking but I'm planning on either getting a i7 6700k or an i5 6600k I rarely upload youtube videos I only have 100 subs and don't plan to make any videos that require a huge amount of rendering to take affect of the i7's extra features overall I just want to know which one I should get

Solution

If you aren't planning on video editing, audio creation, or other tasks that truly benefit from the hypterthreading than I recommend sticking to the i5-6600k. For pure gaming the i5-6600k is just about the best price-to-performance you can get right now and should last you a good many years.

Depends, are you looking for high resolution gaming or high fps? For high resolution an i5 is ok but for high fps you really want an i7. For high fps gaming an i7 often maintains a higher average and higher minimum fps.

Either way if you have spent that much on a GPU why not get a CPU that's nearly always going to allow it to reach its full potential. The cost difference of an 6600k&1080 v 6700k&1080 is negligible in total cost in my opinion.
