Hello, I recently tried to use a program from the internet on my computer and now my anti-virus (Windows Defender) was disabled and it's telling me that I have viruses but it is disable by a group policy. Now it says under my settings that my computer is now under an organization! I'm seeing these strange things in my task manager and I'm deleting them as fast as possible. Can I get some help?

Solution

Disconnect it from the internet.
NOW

Turn it off.
NOW

Then, wipe and reinstall. There is no possible way you can find whatever it is they have done in there.
Wipe and reinstall.

1st of all Windows Defender is not anti-virus. Windows Defender is a crude joke.

2nd. What you have is ransomware. Dont go crazy and burn your house down looking for your tin foil hat red2481 told you to get.
Turn off computer and disconnect from internet. Download malwarebytes from a different computer. Boot computer into safe mode and install malwarebytes and run it.
There are ransomeware programs that will encypt all of your files but if you got a notice saying your computer is under an organization then it has already encrypted all the files or its not going to, simple as that. Its not going to give you heads up before it destroys everything.

If they are asking for money, or telling you to call a number or go to a website then odds are that once you remove the infection it will be fine, as what they were after was you to be scammed into paying them. Now the only way to be 100% sure is to do a full reinstall of windows, but most of the time clearing the infection is fully sufficient.

If they are not directly asking for money then you should be more worried as there is some other avenue they are planning to make money off of you.

And then finally, spend the $20-25 and buy Bitdefender or Kapsersky. They are almost always on sale on amazon or newegg for around this price point. Windows can't protect itself for crap and the free ones like avg and avast still let more infections in then the free ones.
Lately, dont install random programs or pirated programs for the internet.
