Here's the back story:
I built a PC last year and have upgraded it over the time. I have needed to upgrade the CPU to an i7 (from an i3 6100) and just haven't done it yet. In the meantime I put a 1080 in there and a Corsair H100i to prepare. Now I've hit a busy time in my job and am trying to get streaming going to add to my YouTube channel and I've been trying to use 2 PCs (the streaming PC is a CyberpowerPC that used to be my son's) with an Elgato and it's just taking up a ton of time.
Long story short, I was in Best Buy yesterday and saw this new Alienware Aurora R5 with an i7 6700, pci-e ssd boot drive, more USB ports, smaller form factor (the H440 turns out to be bigger than I prefer and I can't keep it on the ground). The R5 also has a 1070 that I could easily swap for my 1080.
I bought it to try and I'm liking it. So much more desk space now. I could sell the H440 PC and the Cyberpower and pay it off with a little to spare, but I'm just trying to figure out if this makes sense. I don't want to build another PC right now. The price of the Alienware is the same as buying and buiding the same thing. I don't care for the H440 case. But why buy a whole new PC when I just need to swap out the CPU on the other.
Ugh. I'm running around in circles. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
