I recently purchased a pre built computer with a 2 tb Hdd then baught and had installed a 250gb ssd and i had my OS moved over to the ssd. Now i was told by the associate at the store that i would not be able to install and play games off my hdd with out an OS on it. I was wondering why? This doesnt make sense to me i thought i would be able to install gamez to either drive. I was planning on installing my main games on the solid state and every other on the hdd. Now im told i litterally have 250 for games and progams and what seems to be a 2tb hdd that is now just only for saving files. Is this true? Am i truly not able to install programs on the hdd with out it having its own operating system? Please note both the hdd and the sdd are hooked up into the same machine.

Welcome to the community, @Francisco_16!

You should be able to install games on either of the drives. What exactly did the associate at the store tell you about not being able to install them on the HDD? Usually, the best storage optimization is considered to be - the SSD for the OS and demanding applications and high-end games; and the secondary storage drive for less demanding games and your massive data (media files, movies, music, personal data, etc.).
Just because it is a storage drive doesn't mean you won't be able to install any software onto it. This is not true. As long as it's apart of your system, you can manage the 2 TB capacity however you want.

Hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any more questions or...

Thank you! i always visit the site decided it was time to join.

The associate said once i eemove the OS from the hdd and move it over to the ssd i would not be able to install games or any software onto the hdd and i would only be able to save things like documents pictures and videos onto the hdd. I have yet to recieve the comouter but i can update when i recieve it and attept to install games or any software onto the hdd.

Hello again, @Francisco!

You should probably ask the associate about the procedure that he has executed on the PC regarding the relocation of the user profiles and the default download/save location. I understand that most people tend to forget to relocate those default download paths to the secondary HDD and they end up filling up the SSD with random data, but keeping even the less demanding apps onto the 250 GB SSD is not really optimizing its usage.
When you receive the PC and there's something wrong, you can simply redo the storage configuration yourself. Here's a pretty detailed tutorial that can walk you through the step-by-steps of Windows Install & Optimization for SSDs & HDDs.

Anyway, keep me posted if you have more questions or concerns! :)
