I want to upgrade my 8gb DDR3 1866Mhz CL10 1.5V Single stick to this item. The reason I'm choosing this particular kit is because I'm getting a good deal on it in the local market. Will this upgrade give a significant performance boost? I'm aware that I'll be going from CL10 to CL11. Also, my motherboard is limited to 1600 MHz. (Gigabyte H81M/S).

I need it for softwares like Maya, Max, Zbrush, etc, not gaming.

Thanks in advance.

More RAM is always a performance increase, so if you are using Maya or any of the other software you have suggested. You should see a performance increase in general day to day use and intensive applications.

The performance increase isn't going to be "significant" as other upgrades though. Software like "Maya" are CPU heavy so a more powerful CPU would give a much more significant performance increase than a RAM upgrade. But still, a RAM upgrade will give you a noticeable performance increase in Maya and in Windows too.
