Hello friends,

I just bought this monster GPU but I dont know what to do next?? I am new to PC building and I have already built my pc a few months ago. I was waiting for the opportunity to grab one of the gtx 1070's available on the market...So now that I've finally got one...I need to know step by step installation process from opening my case and installing the GPU to all required the driver's installation and testing...I am currently using Integrated graphics of my i5-6600(non K) CPU so I need to know what settings need to be changed too bcoz I think I have onboard graphic drivers installed too...am using windows 10(64bit) and I have gigabyte z170 xp-SLI motherboard...I would be grateful for any help or advice... Thank you in advance!!

Solution
With the PC off, open the case after discharging any static electricity on your body by touching a metal surface on your disposal. Unscrew and remove two pci-e brackets out (from the case). Connect the required 8-pin power connector to your PSU (this cable was provided with your PSU), cable manage it. Afterwards, take the new gpu (remove any plastic covers first including the pcie-e cover (you can leave those on the back (hdmi, displayport)).
Open the latch on a pcie x16 port on your motherboard, insert the gpu (you willl hear a click when it is properly inserted), screw the gpu with the screws you removed in the beginning.
Connect the 8-pin power cable, booth the system, go online, download latest drivers for your gpu from...

Thanks for the reply...do I need to uninstall any display or graphic drivers, since I am using Integrated Graphics right now?? and I've read in a some articles over the internet that I need to change a few settings in the BIOS if I had been previously using Integrated Graphics??

Indeed. You can even disable the igpu completely in the bios after installing the new gpu. It should be easy enough to find. P.S. Press Del or F12 (or other key depending on your mobo) when the bios screen is showing. If you had installe dsome software from intel for the igpu I also recommend you to uninstall that (it may not be necessary though).

I had installed Intel IME and Intel rapid storage technology that gigabyte provided on my motherboard page so should uninstall them before installing my new GPU because I don't think they have anything to do with Integrated Graphics?? and you are saying that I dont need to uninstall the Intel Graphics driver, just disable the Intel graphics driver and disable the iGPU from the BIOS by selecting Dedicated graphics in the settings thats all, right??
