Nvidia GTX 1070 Strix OC. Purchased one and just got the 2nd Card as a gift. I received the purchased card on August 11th and built PC at the start of September.
Well the purchased card is now Broken. Red, white and blue strobing lights. Asus will not replace, but only refurbish. (Garbage for a card used for 6 weeks)
Question:
Will this hurt me running SLI with a refurbished 2nd card?

Thanks!

If the refurbed card works as it should then no it shouldnt have any effect, i would say run the refurb as your slave (secondary) card though so that the main bulk of processing is being put through the New card.

Normally, the refurbished products should pass some tests before going back to clients. Those items can be card replaced for other model (with no usage), cards repaired and changing the affected components to new ones or with aesthetics issues (as scratches, but not affecting the functionality). They come with warranty as well.
I would say yes, get the refurbished card, you shouldn't notice any difference. And as SammChisnall said, just in case use it as the secondary card.
