Hi Guys!

So I'm soon gonna change my shitty old TV for a Full HD one, and I own a GTX 780. It performed very well at 768p, but I'm kind of unsure whether it will still perform decent in 1080p in most games with at least high settings, or if I need to change it. I've been thinking about swapping it with a GTX 970, but not really sure if it is worth the extra bucks. If not really necessary, I may wanna hold on to it for a bit longer, until I have a wider budget.

What do you guys think?

Solution

Yes, mostly.
Look, the only worthy upgrade woudl have been a 1070(one tier down, two generations newer). Going with two tier donw(1060) only two gens newer almost never makes sense.

Thank you!
I'm guessing only the 6GB version is really worth it, right?

No. For 1080p, keep your card for another generation as it is still capable.

Thanks a lot!
Is the new generation coming out every year?

The 6gb version has a bit more shaders so yes but try what you have first.
