Intel Core i7 6700k + RX 470 or i5 6600k + GTX 1060 6GB for Dota 2 144Hz

Hello guys! I want a decent build to play at 1080p@144Hz.
I will be mostly playing Dota 2, Skyrim Remastered and The Elder Scrolls Online. I might play some very intensive games like The Witcher 3 or GTA V too but I guess 55-60 avg fps in those games would be fine.

So since Dota 2 is a CPU intensive game and it might even reach 90% usage in team fights with an overclocked i5 6600k while the GPU usage will stay under 60%, I'll need at least an i5 6600k for 144Hz but I'm thinking about future proofing and getting an i7 6700k so I wont have to upgrade the CPU for about 5-6 years and just upgrade the GPU every 3 years.

So I wanna know your opinions on this! Is it a good choice to go for an i7 6700k + RX 470 4GB (or maybe 8GB) vs i5 6600k + GTX 1060 6GB?

I might wait for Zen or Kaby Lake too btw :D

I currently play Dota 2 a lot and I'm running an i5-4670k OC to 4.4 with a GTX 980ti and I run at 4k. While at 4k my CPU is at 100% and my GPU is at 99% and it is BEAUTIFUL. I know this doesn't totally answer your question on what to get, but it should give you an idea. If I were you, I would go for the 1060 6gb and stick with your i5-6600k, just make sure you have adequate cooling on that bad boy.

Well in Dota 2 I'm pretty sure RX 470 = GTX 1060 6GB. What I'm talking about is will an i7 last me 5-6 years? I will change the GPU in 3 years anyways and I don't want a bottleneck or something. I know right now i7 is not much better than i5 but what about in 3-4 years? Will this i7 still be just a bit better than the i5?

Update: Also please pay attention to that I will be playing on a 1080p@144Hz monitor without any G-Sync or Freesync so I'll need that little extra 20 minimum fps the i7 might give me over an i5.

I would say if you want to play Dota you don't really need such a powerful gpu or cpu. I have an i3 4170 and gtx 560 and i play it at high settings without any lag.If you plan in playing other games (other than the ones you listed) and are interested in maybe video editing or photoshop or maybe even streaming get the i7 6700k and the rx 470 4gb.it would be a very good rig which will last you quite some time.

True but as I said I'll need an average fps of 144 and preferably zero to very low drops since I'll be getting a 144Hz monitor also as I said I want the CPU to last me for about 5-6 years and I will be changing my GPU in 3 years to a better one most likely a GTX 1170 or something so I want no bottlenecks so there's that!

I'm totally confused lol so confused that I decided I will wait for Kaby Lake and Zen and then I will decide.

If you are willing to wait that much you are the most patient person in the world.Although that is a smart move.If you already have an existing pc maybe buy just the graphics card and enjoy dota at max.(although it doesn't need much of a graphics card)But the 1060 or 1070 will certainly last you at least 3 years.

I know, right :v
I do have a PC but it's more like a bunch of fossils assembled together :v

Intel Pentium E2200 @ 2.20GHz (Overclocked to 3GHz) - 4GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ (Overclocked to 403MHz) (6-6-6-18) - ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5KPL-C/1600 (Socket 775) - NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 1GB (Overclocked a bit)

Lol I actually find my CPU bottlenecking even this 9400 GT lolol well at least in Dota 2 which is very CPU intensive. I play on the lowest possible settings on 1050p and I get around 40 avg fps and 25-30 min fps which is playable, well I guess it's playable to ME at least :D considering all that low settings I don't think anybody could stand it :v

So as you can see I need a new CPU for a new GPU that fossil is even bottlenecking a 9400 :v let alone a f***ing GTX 1060! The CPU would be like what the hell is this shit you threw at me?!?!?!?!?! *freezes* lol Oh also my PSU does not have 2+6 pin power cables for graphics card and it's only a 340W PSU. I can wait more! I've lived with this for years so why not a few more months :p

That is a rig worthy of old but gold award! It still can play dota. When you buy that new rig you will absolutely be amazed by the performance difference(of course) but keep the old rig and like keep it for like a pc for a music system or just for display because that rig is an absolute legend
