Questions about airflow, static pressure and fans orientation in case modding

I want to mod my case and I have some general questions about airflow, static pressure and fans orientation.

1)Is it better a configuration with one 180mm fan or 4x92mm fans?

I have already read many posts about that topic but my situation is particular. I have a top flow cooler that push air up toward the top of the case, but the panel doesn't have any hole so I want to make some. See the images for further explanation.
My biggest concern is that with 4 fans even if I will get an overall better airflow and static pressure, the air column from the fan of the cpu cooler will be disrupted by the "edges" of the fans that will form some dead spaces (see image).

Small UPDATE: The distance between the cooler fan and the top fan/s is 14mm

2)Which is the minimum distance between two fans so that their air columns won't interfere with each other?

Solution
2) Don't put intake and exhaust on the same panel, period. Air does not stay in a column, your exhaust will blow your nice cool intake back out. A more traditional pattern is in on the front panel, out on the back. Or in front and bottom, out back and top.
