what should i look for when buying an ssd storage for my laptop?

hey guys.

i own a lenovo y50-70 laptop which is pretty awesom exept of the fact that i have no ssd =(

i am interested in buying an ssd internal hard drive with atleast 750giga but i really dont know what to look, or how to know if my laptop actually support that HD.

Any modern laptop will fully support a 2.5' SSD, so compatibility isn't an issue.

To support that size you'll need to get a 1TB SSD, which will run you about $300. Here is one of the best performing and most reliable SSD's you can get in that range:

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($306.07 @ Newegg)
Total: $306.07
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

You could also look at a few 'budget' SSD's by Sandisk or Mushkin which will run around $250, but you'll lose out on the longer warranty and build quality of the Samsung EVO.

I second the Samsung 850 EVO series. I have only worked with 250 GB and 500 GB versions, but I have yet to have an issue with any of them. The only drawback is that they are a little more expensive than similar sized SSD's.
