So I already asked a question earlier today but I am wondering what Pc will be the better choice for Playing all current and Upcoming games on Ultra settings with good Fps.

1.
Intel Core i3-6100
Gigabyte GTX 1060 3gb
8GB DDR4 Ram

or

2.
Intel Core i5-6400
Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti Gaming G1 Edition (yea Im a little Gigabyte Fanboy^^)
8GB DDR4 Ram

Keep in mind that my Monitor Resolution is 1366x786 and Im planning to upgrade it in the next 1-2 years but for now the Monitor still has everything I want. So what will be the better choice? One little note I can't get the 6Gb version of the 1060 because that wouldn't be allowed by my Budget

Solution
No there is no problem with overkill as long as you aren't wasting money on it. It seems reasonable that you will upgrade your monitor and/or use a 1080p tv at some point in the near future so getting a 1060 now seems like a good investment.

Now if somebody already had a nice 1080p monitor and had no plans of upgrading any time soon, it would be a waste of money to buy a GTX1080.

The i3 6100 is very strong. 95% of the time, there will be no bottleneck at all. Only in a few of the games that like as many threads as possible will you see a small bottleneck. I would still prefer it for gaming over the low clock speed i5 6400. I feel these two cpus should be priced more similarly but as it stands, the 6400 is like $60 more. The 6400 can...

But isn't the 1060 way to overkill for my resolution? As far as I know I am probably going to get 60+ fps on ultra settings with this resolution but many people say its way to overkill so im a little bit worried

Last question now. Is it a Problem if its a bit overkill? I mean it sounds not that bad. I know this card is made for 1080p gaming but when I pair it with an core i3-6100 It will probably destroy everything on 720p right? Or am I getting it wrong? I know the i3-6100 is still a powerful CPU and bottlenecks the 1060 only for about 5%

The 6400 can only turbo all 4 cores to 3.1ghz while the 6100 can run both cores with hyperthreading at 3.7ghz. The 6400 is faster in heavily mutlithreaded applications, but gaming is not one of them.

Well Im glad you helped me Bud ^^ Im going for a Zotac gtx 1060 mini to save a bit more money and pair it with the i3 then. At 720p I will probably destroy everything at the moment and when I upgrade my Monitor next year It will still be a Beast Pc even tho I think Im gonna get a i5 6600 in the next 2 years ^^
