Noob question but I'm still learning....when I buy a game on steam or where ever and download it and what not, where does that memory go to? Memory card or SSD?

Memory card? Like an sd card? Im not sure what you mean by memory card. Nothing will go on the 'memory card' unless you tell it to, by default steam will put the game and all its files on the drive you installed windows on which is most likely your ssd.

By memory card do you mean RAM?

The core computer components are:
CPU
Motherboard
Storage (SSD or HDD)
RAM
Graphics (onboard or dedicated)
Power supply.

Games and programs are installed on Storage so either SSD or HDD. When you play games or load applications it will load some of the game or application into RAM because RAM is much faster than any storage.
