Found out my old 6700k had basically killed itself. So I picked up a new 6800K and a Strix X99 motherboard. So far I love everything, I do have a question on how to disable the motherbaord lights when the PC is off. I have AURA and I can change them on the fly in windows, but when im down and power down the PC I notice the breathing effect and orange lights stay on. Kind of drives me nuts. A person has mentioned ASUS Suite but I have yet to find a setting in there.

Solution

I have no clue but im getting a x99 strix board. Maybe there is some general settings in the aura app that make it go to sleep when in sleep mode on windows. anyways if i where you i would take this to the asus forums or just check the aura website

In AURA it should say 'shutdown'? Set the shutdown profile to static and drag the color selector to black. That's pretty much the only solution I can think of, as there is not an 'off while shutdown' setting.

It's easy to turn it off in the os, but when it's asleep or off (the PC), it breathes orange. It's not terrible but if I want the leds to last so I want them completely off when the PC isn't in use. The strix X99 has 5 led zones that stay on.
