Please Help! (BF4 lag)

I used to be able to run BF4 on ultra with 60+ fps and now it runs around 40 fps and choppy on medium settings . My specs are
-GTX 970M
-Intel i7-4720HQ
-8 GB RAM
-Windows 10

I'm a little confused because my friend who has a GTX 860M is having a lot better performance then I am. I've tried all the fps boost guides on the internet none of them worked. any help????

^^^ What Karsten Osecheck said, and if those don't work then try using a driver sweeper and install the drivers again. Here is a link to Display Driver Uninstaller. Please report back after you've tried all these and tell us if they worked/didn't work.

Tried that still nothing! Do I not have a powerful enough computer to run it?

Well, you clearly do have a powerful enough PC to handle it as you have before. Have there been any changes you've made to your BIOS or OS recently?
