ok i have a weird computer the hp compaq 6200 its a cheap old pc but it has a option to come with a really good i7 or i5 2500 (which i have)
so whats the problem here? it comes with a Intel HD 2000 which is one of the worst GPU's a computer can have so after doing a little searching I found this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
why this? because its a compaq and this is one of the only ones that would fit and its also its a low profile because this pc has a power supply that can not be upgraded or replaced
but you might say, "this graphics card takes more than the power supply can supply"
well a expert and moderator on this site said that "even through it says that it should work"

so i just want someone to double check all this so i know im not wasting $110 dollars on gpu that doesnt work

specs
i5 2500
intel 2000
6gb ram

Things he said
Newegg says 400w, Nvidia says 350w. But people in forums have said that their 320w systems, the same one you have, were able to run it without issue. Its right on the cusp of having enough power so you should be able to run it. With prebuilt its always a gamble but more often than not the 750ti is a safe bet.

internally, the card relies on the motherboard to supply the power. Thats why this is all a "it should work" instead of it being a sure thing. The Dell motherboards only supply so much power, the power supplies are propriety, etc. But from reports of other people with your setup it's worked.

As for it crashing, it shouldn't. The card is a lower power demand card, which is why I suggested that specific model. That being said, its a use it and see situation but it shouldn't draw enough power to put a strain on anything.

this statements are the ones i want you guys to double check

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Ancient_2 : "A different solution"

also 75 is the MAX power it takes up so does it really matter that much?

Power: depends how good your PSU is. In a prebuilt PC, I've had the power supply blow up before.

BIOS: firmware which manages the hardware at a very basic/fundamental level.
The reason why people have brought up mentioning whether the BIOS will allow it is simple: some PC manufacturers have a custom BIOS for their PCs, and these can prevent users from changing the hardware. I.e., if your PC has such a BIOS, you can't upgrade your graphics card.
