Hi guys I am not very good at building computers, this is my first desktop pc.

I recently saw a sale on 750 evo and decided to purchase it, didn't know a thing about where it connects and which cables to use(i got this pc built by a local shop 2 years back)..
I received this ssd, watched some tutorials and got it up and running(installed win 7 and stuff)

It was working fine until i tried to switch on my pc the next day(it somehow killed my logitech g300s or it maybe completely unrelated) and it didn't turn on. So i thought i might have messed up the cables. So I decided to rebuild the whole pc thinking it cannot be too hard and finally after several tries got it to boot.

but in the process i figured the main issue was that my power switch only works if it is pressed from below when switched on after some time after that the power button works as normal.. But my pc always restarts once after i shut it down. Please help me resolve this issue. I will appreciate if you could help me out with the mouse as well.

First, you cannot mess the cables of your SSD coz those cables(SATA) are the only ones that would fit. When you said rebuild, did you mean you disassembled and unplugged everything including the wires from your case going to your motherboard?

My guess is as you're new to this, you may have short something. Beginners tend to not know that they SHOULD unplug the PC from the power socket before plugging/unplugging hardware and that they should touch something metallic to remove static electricity as that causes hardware to short. Have you done these tips before doing something to your PC parts? And try breadboarding, plugging hardware one by one, to see which hardware causes the problem

Thanks for the quick reply.
I removed everything apart from the motherboard and psu(my psu is non modular so i thought i might have unplugged or loosened some cables while getting the sata plug for my ssd), then reconnected everything and I made sure that the power cable was disconnected from the psu the whole time. I was wearing a metal watch, does that count?
which components can I remove to start off with breadboarding(gpu is working fine i've tried it)?

Yeah, metal watch works. You can start with any hardware and see if it will eliminate the problem. For example, 1 RAM stick at a time or booting with onboard video. And remember to unplug the PSU from the power socket everytime
