Hi,
I'm looking to build a custom PC with the following parts and I'm looking for an ATX motherboard in INDIA.

Components:
Core i5-6600k
8GB DDR4 2400 MHz
Coolermaster Hyper 212x
GTX1060 (Not decided on the manufacturer yet)

Requirements:
I'll obviously be overclocking, and I'm looking for a stable OC to ~4.5GHz. Also, USB 3.1 type-C would be a nice addition. Not looking to run CFX or SLI (1060 doesn't support that, lol).

I can choose between the following:

1. ASUS Z170K
2. ASUS Z170-AR Z170
3. ASUS Z170 P
4. ASRock Z170 Extreme3
5. ASRock Z170 Extreme4
6. MSI Z170A PC MATE
7. SUPERMICRO C7Z170-SQ-O
8. GIGABYTE Z170- D3H
9. GIGABYTE Z170 N-WIFI

Solution
the AR comes with 10 power phases which distributes the power cleaner and causes less spikes and fluctuations for the CPU and is easier on the circuitry due to the additional caps. also it supports faster M.2 SSDs and slightly higher clocked RAM
the D3H uses a better Audio chip and is usually somewhat cheaper than the AR

but the more I look at the AsRock Extreme4.....and the reviews....
basically sometimes it happens that the board is defective out of the box. happens more often than with Asus or Ga. but that's why you got warranty. if it's working fine, it's working fine and gets good reviews.
I'd lean towards it.

but also it's a question of pricing between those boards.
personally I like Gigabyte's Z170 UD3 as it's the cheapest premium quality board imho.
with the boards below you usually have to sacrifice a couple of things like they're using a cheaper audio chip, cheaper lan controller and so on.

that being said, especially in the low priced segment I'd stick to Asus & Gigabyte

The GA Z170 N-WIFI is a mITX board. unless you're building in mITX I wouldn't use it

the Asus Z170-AR & GA Z170-D3H is what I'd go for
although for the price tag the ASRock Z170 Extreme4 looks very very very tempting.
AsRock just has problems with quality control sometimes that's why I usually avoid their cheaper boards

Honorable
Well, Asrock has been my top choice for the last couple of years and never had any issues. They generally pack more features for the same price or even lower compared to let's say Asus.
Dont know about their cheaper boards, but their premium models they are amazing. Specially considering if you overclock.

The UD3 you mentioned is quite a bit out of budget for me. Further, it's not available in India too. Could you please point out the major differences between the Z170AR and the Z170-D3H too. I'm quite a noob in motherboards.

So, I should still consider the Extreme4 as a good bang for buck mobo provided it has no quality control issues?

Right. I checked the price of the AR. It's 2000 bucks more expensive than the Extreme4 and 3000 bucks more than the D3H.
The D3H costs 11,800; the AR 14800, the Extreme4 12,800.
2000 is quite a large amount IMO.
But is it worth it?
