So my original plan was to go for the i7 6700k just because it is the latest generation and all that.
Though recently I thought about going for the i7 4790k.

Now I did two builds with the separate processors and kept the parts very similar, for the motherboard I selected motherboards that have similar features.

The price difference between the i7 6700k and the i7 4790k builds is that the total cost amount for the i7 6700k cost around $740 while the i7 4790k cost about $710 (This is disincluding the GPU btw)

I was wondering that is there any real benefits for saving that little extra money and going for the i7 6700k, I mainly do a lot of animating and I also game a lot as well.

If you want to know what games I mainly play or will play when I get this new build, here is the list of games: Arma 3, CSGO, Rainbow Six Siege, Space Engineers, Insurgency, GTA V and Day Z

Thank you for your help and feedback!

For 30$ I would get the i7 6700k build, it's newer technology and future cpu's are also going to be able to run on the 1151 socket, so you can even upgrade your i7 6700k to a newer cpu in a few years, does that mean that the i7 4790k is bad? No definitely not, it's just logical to go for the better/newer system with only 30$ difference. Also GTA likes DDR4 ram, so you will get higher fps than with an i7 4790k :)

With what gpu are you going to pair it?

The all mighty GTX 1070! :D

Very good GPU indeed, I have it paired with an i7 4790, and run everything easily at ultra, so the i7 6700k will be a very good option with it :) Enjoy your new system!
