I'm trying to put together an office computer, I tried just about everything I can without replacing the mobo.
Part list:
- ASRock H81M-DG4
- Intel Pentium G3260
- Two sticks of Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
- LC5550 PSU
I already tried switching out the PSU with a new one, same problem.
I eliminated the chance of a short circuit with the PC case itself.
(All the insides of the PC are sitting on a table on a piece of cardboard)
I checked that the CPU is indeed facing the correct way.
I tried booting with only one RAM stick in either port and with both sticks in at once, nothing changes.
I tried resetting the CMOS settings with the pin jumper, nothing changes.
I tried removing the CMOS battery for a bit and putting it back in, again, nothing changes.
As far as I'm aware, everything needed for the mobo to boot is plugged in, 24pin from the PSU,
4pin from the CPU and the switch from the case ( first PC build, so I may have gotten something wrong),
the mobo speaker is also plugged in.
I guess something worth mentioning is that the 24pin isn't pushed all the way down,
because it feels like I might crush the motherboard, but It's making contact with the pins.
No matter what I tried, the fans spin for a second and turn off, not even a beep to indicate what's wrong.
Everything seems to point towards a faulty motherboard, but I'd like to hear if anyone here has a different idea.
I could really use a miracle right now
