I'm trying to put together an office computer, I tried just about everything I can without replacing the mobo.

Part list:
- ASRock H81M-DG4
- Intel Pentium G3260
- Two sticks of Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
- LC5550 PSU

I already tried switching out the PSU with a new one, same problem.
I eliminated the chance of a short circuit with the PC case itself.
(All the insides of the PC are sitting on a table on a piece of cardboard)
I checked that the CPU is indeed facing the correct way.
I tried booting with only one RAM stick in either port and with both sticks in at once, nothing changes.
I tried resetting the CMOS settings with the pin jumper, nothing changes.
I tried removing the CMOS battery for a bit and putting it back in, again, nothing changes.

As far as I'm aware, everything needed for the mobo to boot is plugged in, 24pin from the PSU,
4pin from the CPU and the switch from the case ( first PC build, so I may have gotten something wrong),
the mobo speaker is also plugged in.
I guess something worth mentioning is that the 24pin isn't pushed all the way down,
because it feels like I might crush the motherboard, but It's making contact with the pins.

No matter what I tried, the fans spin for a second and turn off, not even a beep to indicate what's wrong.

Everything seems to point towards a faulty motherboard, but I'd like to hear if anyone here has a different idea.

I could really use a miracle right now

not supported means not supported and all issue that can go along with that -- now if you had a supported and its supporting bios - then you could move on to something else ?

like fuelling your gas burning cars tank with diesel fuel then wonder why the motor locked up and don't run ???

that later bios may work for it but you have no way to flash to it with out a working cpu to do so ..

look at your board and asrock puts a sticker [white with black numbers ] on the bios chips so you can see what bios was shipped from the factory with out the need to post

stickers should state something like p1.10 or p1.00 p1.20

p1.00 would indicate it shipped from asrock with its first release bios
this board ??

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81M-DG4/?cat=CPU

notice that Intel Pentium G3260 is not on the cpu support list for starters ???

may try the latest bios at least 1.10 that did add some microcode that from the cpu list did add support for that Pentium G3258 haswell ''refresh'' cpu ?

may pull it out with that ?? bottom line is if you contacted asrock support on this they will say the same thing your cpu used is not on there official cpu support list and all they will back up only what is listed

Huh, now that you mention it, checking cpu compatibility completely slipped my mind, that's a bit embarrassing to say the least...
Not super knowledgeable with computers yet, is it normal for that to cause the mobo to not even beep?

Guess I'll have to order a new CPU and see.

Thanks for your help!
