Hi - I recently swapped out my current video card with an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X card. When I start the computer, I see the BIOS splash screen, but when it is time to boot Windows 7, the screen goes black and my monitor goes into sleep mode. The BIOS screen is up for a very long time (3-5 minutes) and I am not able to access the BIOS. When I pull out the card and plug my monitor into the onboard video, I am able to boot (and the bios screen clears very quickly and I can enter BIOS if I need to).

Any help anyone could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks, this is a good suggestion and I'll try updating the BIOS. I'm pretty sure the card isn't DOA given that I'm able to see the BIOS splash screen, but I'll throw it in another box just to make sure.

Yeah, I've seen cards that boot into BIOS but will fail once you try to do anything else. It's weird that you are not even able to access the settings though. I've also seen this kind if problems with Gigabyte motherboards. They have nice hardware but their firmware usually goes through a long upgrade cycle. Let me know how it turns out.
