I don't plan upgrading for a while. What should I get ? AMD RX 480 or GTX 1060 ?
I really like GTX 1060 but people say that the AMD RX 480 will have better performance in future games.

Solution
That's a tough choice. Both are around the same price and they have very similar performance. Personally I would probably go with the 1060 because of its lower power draw. The RX 480 is still an excellent card, and as Mac said if Vulcan and DX12 really catches on then the RX480 will benefit more since Nvidia does not seem to be as interested in asynchronous compute.

If you are not planning on running Windows 10 though you won't benefit from DX12 as Windows 7 does not support it.

I agree that the RX 480 will be better in the future and last you longer than the GTX 1060. Supports crossfire ( Which is very scalable with AMD right now) , has more Vram support, and supports Vulcan / DX 12 which leave the GTX 1060 6GB in the dust.

Overall if you can get the RX 480 8GB then i would . GTX 1060 is good for older games.
