EVGA 1070 FTW power connection question

Hey all. I got a new EVGA 1070 FTW gpu and excitedly unboxed it, only to find I don't have the correct power connections for it. It came with two 8-pin-split-into-dual-6-pin connectors, but they are WAY too short to reach my power supply, so I need to get longer ones. Should I get two longer versions of the same one and use 4 6-pin connections on my PSU, or get two longer 8-pin to 8-pin cables and use two 8-pin connections on the PSU? I have a Corsair AX860i PSU, and it does have 4 empty 6-pin sockets, but they are labeled for "peripherals," I have PLENTY of 8-pin slots labeled "6+2 PCI-E and 4+4 CPU," as only two of those are in use right now, and one will be freed up when I take out the old EVGA 660ti GPU. So...what cables would be best to get to hook up this new 1070? Thanks in advance...

Solution
Either a pair of 6+2 or 8-pin cables would be fine, they are essentially identical in terms of power output to the GPU. No matter which you choose you'll want to connect them to the "6+2 PCI-E" ports on the PSU itself, not the 4+4 CPU.

Personally if I were getting new cables I'd still stick with the 6+2 pins just because if there ever came a time when you needed a 6-pin connector as well for a new GPU you would have what you need already.

Edit: You can find cable replacements for the AXi model here: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/power-supply-units/psu-accessories
