Im building a new computer and i dont think i Will have enough money to buy an os. Is it true that if you go to the microsoft website you can make installation media and boot it onto your no os computer? Then you can still use windows 8 but are prompted to buy a key. how should i go about getting an os?

"Im building a new computer and i dont think i Will have enough money to buy an os"

Change that statement to:
"Im building a new computer and i dont think i Will have enough money to buy a CPU"

Sounds silly, doesn't it?

The OS is just as much a part of the PC as everything else is. Budget for it.

Not really, seldom, or never is the price of an OS included in a final price.

If you're building a new PC, at some point you would probably expect to turn it on and use it.
This requires an OS.
Either Linux for free, or put a Windows OS in the budget.

He could be planning for a really inefficient space heater, just sat in bios.

Actually your final question says "how should I go about getting an os?" and he clearly answered you.

If you like posting here I suggest you lose the attitude.

Just download the OS from MS, that's it, but the OS is not an optional component as a build, factor it in to your total costs.

BTW it'll be win10 more than likely.
