Hey guys
im lookiing at buying a dell dimension 5100 for $30, ive wanted one of these or a while since i just like the look of them however i was also hoping to use it for some less demanding games and i have a ton of core 2 duo's and a spare 550ti to do so but the problem is i cant find ANY specs sheet to tell me what processor the 5100 can support, i would just replace the motherboard but its a btx from factor so that wont work.

Solution
They used the same case on the e520 and I think some others. They usually do use the same case on a couple different models but they have different mobos. Be aware these won't fit a dual slot gpu.
The Dell Dimension 5100 Service Manual states:

Intel Pentium 4 5XX and 6XX processors with Hyper-Threading technology

Your Core2 Duos won't work because of the lack of BIOS support and improper CPU voltage due to the motherboard's CPU VRM circuit having been designed for Prescott processors only.
