Hey guys, I didnt see qustion like this in here so i'm gonna try to explain it. I spend long hours infornt of my pc, so my eyes started to hurt and etc.,so I read that the monitors with higher refresh rate are softer on your eyes and I stopped on the monitor BenQ XL2411Z.Then I read that your video card has to support this refresh rate and here comes my question "Does Palit gt730 2gb 128b supports 144hz in any way"The monitor is not cheap, so if i dont use its full potential its will be money lost ;x I hope I will get answered soon , cya:)

+Maik_2 The BenQ XL2411Z is indeed an expensive monitor. Although I prefer 144+ Hz displays for game play, for productivity I prefer IPS technology. The BenQ display you reference is TN technology. Right now I'm typing on my Dell UltraSharp U2412M, which has excellent image quality. It is a 24" IPS 1080p display. It came out 5 years ago, and the bezel is thicker by today's skinny bezel standards. But I love the image quality, and the OSD (on screen display) is the most intuitive I've ever experienced. Another caveat is that it does not have a HDMI input; only displayport, hdmi, and vga.

Strangely no monitor manufacturer makes a display that is both 144 Hz and IPS in the 1080p resolution. If I had to choose, I'd opt for the IPS...

Let's say i need it for my studies (read presentation, pdf , E-books) and then what refresh rate will i get and what cable should I use ? ty for the answers guys!

Was your cousin by any chance using a CRT display? Also, monitor refresh rate is measured in Hertz, not Frames Per Second.

Any modern display will do for that, but if you want a better experience the one feature that should interest you is whether the display is an IPS panel. Gives much better viewing angles and usually better color.

I meant hertz sorry for that, and he bought a 30 hertz monitor. He switched back to a 60 hertz monitor and then his eyes didn't hurt

Strangely no monitor manufacturer makes a display that is both 144 Hz and IPS in the 1080p resolution. If I had to choose, I'd opt for the IPS technology and definitely 24"; 22 and 23" is too small to read without straining. If you wish to opt for 27" that's fine, but I think 24" is perfect size.
