Ni hao, forum. B4 you read the text below, I want to apologize for my bad English, I'm from Russia.

So, let's begin. I'm on my way to buy a GTX 1070 but there's an obstruction. I want to buy a GPU with Sasmung memory due to Micron GTX 1070s problems lately. Are there any models from subvendors which 90%+ of them in batch have Samsung memory on the board?

sorry i don't know who uses what. never paid attention. no idea if anyone does not use them or by how much.

maybe someone else watches that closely and may know who uses what. i just know they have fixed the issue.

as for overclocking, there really is nothing to be gained from this with the pascal cards anyway. not a single card i have seen reviewed gave any extra performance with overclocking the gpu or memory. you're gonna do a lot fo work and probably spend extra money on a card just for maybe an extra fps in game. see this thread for a bunch of reviews of a bunch of cards and do some reading if you wish to see for yourself...

vendors use both and mix them into the process as they are delivered. no way to know for sure, but the good news is it really is a non issue. seems to be an undervolting issue with the memory so they have already released bios updates fixing the issue with a voltage increase.

no reason to worry about it really, just install the newest bios when you get it and enjoy the card :)

Just as I know Micron doesn't overclock as properly as Samsung. I aso heard that ASUS STRIX 1070 in most has Samsung chips

no card has stood out from the others in performance no matter how it is clocked out of the box, cooled, powered or what oc it has that i have seen.

good luck
