Can use internet fine but not play games online

since I moved to college, I can surf the internet without issue,download songs and even games decently fast. but as soon as I try and play ANY game online I either lose connection to the server before the game starts or I simply can't connect to the online services to even try and join a lobby. My roommates can play their games online fine for reference any ideas?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have exactly the same issue and I'd like to know if there is a possible solution.
For some reason online gaming and online features of any platform (Steam, Origin, Uplay) just don't work.
It's weird because I used to play online normally and didn't make any software or hardware changes on my computer.

It is almost always the firewall on the PC. Sometime it will decide the network connection is for example directly on the internet and it will have different settings. Many programs also add rules. Try to disable the firewall and if that fixes it you will need to dig and find the rules causing the issue

Thanks for you answer bill001g.
Actually I have already disabled both firewall and AV (Panda Cloud on my case), rebooting and still not working.
I'm searching about the hint that I mentioned on my first post (about Steam only connecting with a "-udp" sentence in the shortcut path).
Maybe a W10 update that caused this issue?
