Low resoultion textures ingame followed by a freeze that last for about 30sec-5min please help.

everytime I play a game after a little while especially when I'm in a car in a game the textures stop loading in game or they become really low resolution. Sometimes I also get where the sound will repeat over and over again. Then the game completely freezes (including my computer) for a little while sometimes for 30 seconds sometimes up to 5 min. when this happens my computer almost locks up and does completely nothing. Then it will infreeze and act like nothing happened. My graphics card also isnt overclocked by the way. PLASE HELP.
My specs are:
GTX 660
intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
8 GB of RAM

I'm saying that you should have a graphics card with more vram to get nice textures.

That's why. The amount of vram doesn't directly affect the performance; however, the more you have the better games will look. For example a gpu that's the same model with 2gb vs 4,6,8 or more may all be getting around 120fps, but the 8gb version would be getting way better graphics out of the game. Yes this does include textures.

im not talking about graphics im saying the game will lose textures after a while then freese up this has nothing to do with the performance.
