I'm looking for a good cooler for a stable overclock at 4.7 GHz an FX8350 and maintaining reasonable temps. I've been considering the Corsair H60, be quiet! DARK ROCK 3, and the Cooler Master GeminII S524 Ver.2.

In the end, I just want to get a reasonable cooler that will last for a while

Honestly I would just get a Hyper 212 +\EVO and some MX paste. Depending on your chip you will be close to your goal.

A more expensive solution might give you slightly more headroom. Is it worth it though?

I mean you can put $2500 dollar rims on a 96' Honda, but it is still a 96' Honda.

It shouldn't be hard to find a good cooler for the FX-8350 for that price. Mine has an inexpensive 212 EVO with push-pull fans and is OC'ed to 4.7 GHz. I had a H60 on for awhile, but moved it to another machine. The push-pull 212 EVO does a slightly better job than the H60.

Would it benefit to buy a larger cooler then? Like the Dark Rock 3? Or will that just be wasted money

Larger? The fan is slightly larger on the DR3. But the cooling efficiency isn't all that much better (for the price). I don't have any experience with the DR3, but here is a video I found of it being compared to the 212 EVO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0azJZejLIq4
