CPU resets to base clock when put in sleep mode

I haven't overclocked the cpu (4790k) but I have enhanced turbo on in the bios so it's always at 4.4 ghz. After waking up the computer from sleep it is only at 4.0 ghz. For msi boards there is turbo boost or enhanced turbo boost mode. When using turbo mode it only goes up to 4.2ghz for some reason, so I use enhanced turbo. I have all power saving stuff off, c-states off, and speedstep off. This has caused me to never put my computer to sleep, anyone have a fix for this?

It is the bios battery which stores things like overclocking settings so I think the most probable thing it could be is the bios battery. They look like a standard cr2032 battery on the motherboard so after turning it off for a while, I would say 2 hours and avoid touching anything else- definitely not the psu, replace it. Then it should store the overclocking settings. But I would check that the replacement battery you get for it has the same voltage etc. Hopefully this works for you, but if you don't want to do this I would try other things first. Some will go to boost clock when you press a certain key on the keyboard so search up your cpu or motherboard if it has that setting. If you liked my answer like my page at...
