Hello, Tomshardware peeps,

For some reason my previous thread got deleted and I'm not sure why. It wasn't solved yet so no clue how.

Anyways, I want to ask if my Seasonic 350ES can run a single MSI GTX 660 properly compared to a generic psu with a dedicated 6pin pci-e connector? and since 350ES doesn't have dedicated 6pin-pcie, I'm going to use a 4pin molex to 6pin-pcie adapter, is it safe? Can I use it for awhile?

I will upgrade my PSU after a few months just for the safety of GTX 660.

Other specs:
C2Q Q9400 2.66 Ghz (stock)
DDR2 800mhz (2x2) 4GB
Palit GT630 (currently)
Seagate 160GB HDD

Link for the PSU: https://seasonic.com/product/ss-350-es-active-pfc-f3/

Thank you for reading, have a good day!

Solution
I would salvage that other power supply. It might not be Seasonic quality but it has the connectors you need. I wouldn't wait because you really can't run much of anything gamewise with a GT 630.

no

get a 500w or better unit with the pcie cables you need first

or you can wait and get a gtx 1050

Thanks for the reply.

Sadly, both 750 and 1050 are really expensive in my country, they start from
112$ (Palit GTX 750 Ti) to 134$ Asus ones
170$ (Palit GTX 1050 2GB StormX) to 227$ (GIGABYTE GTX 1050 Ti Windforce 4GB)

I only have 80$ atm. I can salvage a generic psu from my dad's rig (Neuron N-600LW) with 2 dedicated dual 8 pin PCI-E connectors, will that be okay instead? or should I just wait?

Thanks again.
