Advice for better graphics card

I have a nvidia geforce 660. And i was looking to upgrade the either 900 series or 1000 series. If i could get some help on which to get for better performance?
Computer specs
I5 3.4gh intel processor water cooler
Windows 7
Asrock z77 pro 4 motherboard
Dont know the power supply.
16 gb ram 1600
Nvidia ge force 660

an average power supply should be around 450 - 550 w so I guess you for safe sake go for 1060

you could go to about as high as GTX1070, after that you've got a big bottleneck on the CPU.

what's your budget?

the 1070 will work great for you, with some slight bottlenecks on some games. you could go for gtx1060 as well

Do i have to make sure my motherboard and piwer supply can handle it how do i know???

you would have to open the side panel and have a look at the writing on your PSU. look for wattage and brand/model.

if you run a gtx 660, then i can only assume you can run the gtx1060 without any problems
