How would changing CPU affect Windows Genuine?

Hello.

I have an Intel E8400; I am going to buy a Q9550 (my board is an LGA 775 socket, if you didn't figure it out). My question is, if I change the CPU, would it affect my Windows (I have an OEM computer with OEM product key); I heard if you change a part on your motherboard, your key becomes invalid, that's why I'm asking.

Another question: After installing, would the Q9550 just work like that? Or do I need to get drivers for it? And, if I need Q9550 drivers, would I have to delete the E8400 drivers, if there are any?

Thanks.

No need to worry about any of that, its as easy as just swapping the chip.

The only thing you may need to check is that your motherboard is capable of supporting the chip. You may need to update your BIOS. Usually this is not the case though.

If you want to give me your mobo make/model i can check for you.
