Did a XP Home Edition factory reload/restore on my Gateway MX3231 SN N6367F1035014 using the Gateway recovery disk that came with the machine. The WLAN adapter has gone missing and does not appear in the Device Manager - only the cable adapter shows. Loaded SP3 - still not there. Loaded Win7 and it DOES show and will go on the internet but VERY VERY SLOW - as you would expect. Installed Xp Pro - no adapter. Need to use XP due to slow processor but can't find the right WLAN adapter. Suggestions?

try this one---though there might be variations of the mx3231 with different wifi--but see if this works for you
