Looking to build my first gaming PC

Solution
You cannot compare the clock speeds between Intel and AMD directly. The FX8370 is not nearly as good as it looks on paper.

In real life, the i3 6100 at 3.7ghz is something like 60% faster than the FX8370 at 4.3ghz.

The dual core i3 6100 at 3.7ghz will outperform the OLD 8 core FX8370 and it will do it for less money as well.

If you're building a new gaming PC, any AMD cpu is a poor choice right now.

The 8370 has 8 cores, but they are all very weak. 99% of all games only use one or two cores.

A couple of very strong cores is a lot better than a bunch of weak cores.

What do you mean by strong and weak cores?
