so ... im playing Battlefield 1 ... and my CPU (i5-2500k) is hitting a constant 100% usage .. now i know that the game is causing alot of these problems wth it being poorly optimised and whatnot .. but i also know that some people with the same cpu are having no such problems .. my friend has an FX-8350 and is only hitting around 80% usage ... and the other day i got my i5 down to around 94% usage max and everything was so much smoother ... my question is .. will upgrading to an i7 of the sandybridge or ivybridge variety help as i believe BF1 makes use of every ounce of cpu power your pc has to offer ... also my GPU usage goes from anything from 0% - 100% .. but mainly drops to around 4% alot .. so something aint right ..

as always guys thanks for your replys once they come in .. yall are great and sorry for the long explanation.

I don't believe upgrading to an i7 will help you that much. Have you tried overclocking?

You can't compare your cpu usage to that of an 8 core FX. I've seen 2 cores of an 8350 maxed out at 100% but the other 6 cores were idle. Overall cpu usage was 25%

i currently have it OC'd tp 4.4ghz under air cooling .. so its an ok OC ... but i read on a forum that creating a user config file and editing certain settings within the game would fix the cpu over usage .. and it did .. for a day .. and now my cpu is back to 100% usage .. EA have noted this as a problem and are apparetly working on a fix .. just frustrating xD
