gtx 970 - gets to 92C degrees when pc case closed

Basically I have built a new pc.

Specs:
Corsair CX750M
MSI B150A Pro
DDR4 Hyper FuryX 16GB 2133mhz
i5 6500
gtx 970 gigabyte G1
1tb blue wd
120gb furyx ssd

When I play games GPU temps get to 92C and the case is really hot. When I open the front window on the case temps drop down to like 72C! It's ridiculous. Why is the card getting so hot when the case is closed?

It's G1 gtx 970 so its quite long 297mm, there an ssd directly underneath the card which is pretty much covering the third fan on the GPU...but where else would I install the ssd in the case..

I don't really know what to do...

Would getting a water cooling for my GPU help?

that case only has 1 fan?

you need at least 1 fan front one rear minimum

well before buying any expensive water cooling download msi afterburner and make a custom fan curve, its free and works for most people!, and second it sounds like your case fans aren't optimized for cooling

The G1 970 has quite the beefy cooler on it, and SSD's don't generate much heat. What is the fan configuration inside your case? CPU cooler? Gut instinct tells me bad case airflow.

Water cooling something out of necessity is usually not considered an appropriate solution. If temps are a problem, and it can't be solved with air cooling, something else is horribly wrong.

you spent hundreds on components and put them in a 20 quid case that only has 1 fan its not really surprising whats happening

Well, in your place I would buy another case.

Thanks guys, I will definitely get a new case then. Just looking at my pc now the air from the fans on gpu has no where to go...

yep need to have 1 fan front one rear minimum really and if theres a door on the front usually that means less airflow as well

The NZXT looks nicer but it's got a fan installed to top of the case which doesn't give the best air-flow?

you can always move the top fan to the front or get another fan for the front

or flip the top fan to vent hot air out instead of cool air in

or if the same size pinch the fan out of that cit case and put that in the front

either way the nzxt is far superior to that cit--and looks a lot better in my opinion as well

I think I'll just get another fan - I saw a cooler master for less than £10 + I'm returning the CiT case back to ebuyer so won't be able to keep its fan.
