Solution skittle Oct 31, 2016 Yes it is java version 6. Also consider using openjdk-jre. Version 6 is all that is available for ubuntu 12.04, the default for crouton. Read the crouton readme for how to install newer version of ubuntu which has.newer version of java/openjdk https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton/blob/master/README.md
