Ok, so I built this computer about a year ago and everything has worked fine since then.
I just recently (today) tried to get the HDD Saver to work.
It works, however I can not see the HDD when I'm in the file explorer folder, I only see my SSD.
- I can turn on and off the HDD with A-tuning or the hotkeys (Ctrl + Alt + S).
- In BIOS the HDD is recognized.
- In Disk Management the HDD is recognized.

There is a video, Here > https://youtu.be/8IxICKGWZ64
At about 1:20 it shows the two new HDD's in the file explore next to his local disk.
How do I get my HDD to appear on my computer in the file explorer?

AsRock z97 extreme6
HDD is plugged into SATA3_1 port.
SSD is in SATA3_0
Intel i-7 4790K
Windows 8.1 64 bit
G-skill Ripjaws 8GB x 2 = 16GB RAM, 1600Mhz DDR3 Dual channel 1.5v
There are no other storage disk installed besides the SSD & HDD.

If you need anymore info to help just ask.

Thanks in advance!

- This 2 TB Barracuda is to be used just as a data storage unit, and not the boot device. Right?

If that's right, go back into Disk Management where you can see this unit. It is probably showing as one large block labeled Unallocated Space. RIGHT-click on that and choose to Create a New Simple Volume. I should use up all the space available (I assume that's what you want) but it does NOT need to be made Bootable. If you have a choice, picking Quick Format (not Full Format) will save a LOT of time. Full Format takes hours to do a complete check of the HDD for Bad Sectors, but that is not usually necessary with a brand new HDD. When it's done, back out of Disk Management. Reboot to be sure Windows has updated its Registry and you should find the unit in My Computer ready to use.
