Hello,
First of all, sorry if I'm in the wrong section!
I just recently got my new rig and I was quiet generous with the money when I went shopping. These are the Specs:
-CPU: Intel Core i7-6700k
-Cooler: Corsair H100i V2
-Motherboard: MAXIMUS VIII HERO
-RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB)
-Graphics Card: Asus STRIX GTX 1080 OC Edition (1936 Hz)
-SSD: Kingston Savage 240GB
-PSU: Corsair RM750 Bronze (don't kill me coz its bronze, there was a mistake in the order so i will get the RM750x Gold soon)
-OS: Windows 10 Pro x64.
After i put it all together, updated the drivers to the latest i decided to try out my new rig on The Rise of The Tomb Raider, since i saw Linus Tech Tips use it for a lot of benchmarking (80+ at 2k with Ultra settings).
To my surprise however i could not get beyond the 33 fps mark when setting everything to max. I tried using dx 12 and 11, but only to get a difference of 1 - 3 fps. I had to go with the optimal settings suggested by Geforce experience to be able to actually play at around 60-70 fps, which is still low for a pc with those specs.
This whole "test" that I did was all at 2k.
Is there a bottleneck somewhere here?
Is it just bad game integration?
Please help me know how to get to a better fps at ultra settings(if thats even possible).
Also, off topic, does the PSU make a difference in performance/longevity of parts if its gold or bronze?
Thanks in advance.
