Hi Guys,

I am from the UK and my friend wants a prebuilt PC, I have offered to build one for him as I have built several for myself but he would rather trust the professionals!

He wouldn;t need a big gaming PC, just an entry gaming PC. Something that can play Terarria, Team Fortress and similar games.

Could you please direct me to any good UK sites or PC brands to have a look at, the budget is around £550. I understand it is not as easy with prebuilts for price but he insists!

Cheers,

It costs more because you'll almost always wind up replacing the PSUs. It may look tempting to buy a Cyberpower or iBUYPOWER PC but it really isn't when you look at the fine print. Most OEM vendors go cheap on critical components in order to meet a price point, then the operating systems get overloaded with bloatware and adware that make the systems near unusable. Your best bet at getting real components, a real PSU, and a clean install of the operating system is to build it yourself. It really isn't that hard, and you can easily build on your budget.

Trusting in "professionals" always costs more... But if he really wanna go that way
Go in here: http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/all/

Select the Novatech Life NTI200

Customize it, adding 2x4 GB RAM and a RX460 or GTX 1050
Everything else is fine.

There you go!

Thanks for the contribution, but really don't like sites like that. Just like PC specialist, overcharge you a lot. For instance
to get a 2GB GPU it costs over £400... I got a GTX 960 4GB for £240 last year, bit of a rip off if you ask me. But thanks anyway.

Cheers,

Yeah, i tottaly agree with you.

But that's the price you pay when getting a pre-built PC on "Specialized sites" like that, it will always be more expensive for no reason, unfortunately. I don't agree with that policy so i make the PCs myself too

If you/he really don't wanna pay that extra, i think the best option is to convince your friend that there's no difference between home-made build and a "pro-made" build.
