Format SSD, HDD or Both 'cos of Trojan?

Okay so I was careless with a program that made all kinds of antivirus messages light up. I didn't install it, 'cos everything lit up before I did, so that was probably enough right? It was for trojan and malware and they were supposedly cleaned/deleted/whatever else an antivirus program does.

Call me strange but I don't quite trust that everything is okay. I did a system restore as well but I don't know if that helps either. So I'd prefer to format and be done with it.

The thing is that W7 are installed on my SSD and every other program, as well as the folder the program that came with trojan was downloaded, are on my partitioned HDD. So I ask you, do I format my SSD, the HDD partition that the program was on, or both?

Just run Malware Bytes Anti-Malware and clean those infections.

If you want to be absolutely sure, that no traces of infection are on your PC, then you will need to format all your drives - HDD and SSD.
But it's a bit extreme. Like if you spill drink on your sofa and instead of cleaning/drying it, you throw it out and go buy a new one. :)

Might be downloaded to your HDD, but installed to your SSD. Then again, the trojan might automatically move files to your TEMP folder, or PROGRAMDATA. Best place to hide them, and they are located on your SSD. Or in short, wherever Windows is installed.

Back-up important files and then just format all your drives and do a fresh install.

It's a new PC and that wasn't a good start for me >< Plus in the msconfig I have a path from an uninstalled program and I hate seeing it there (that was the reason I dled that program that send that crapstorm my way).

Anyways should I format the partition in which I store media (I partitioned my 1TB HDD in 2 parts the first one I put programs in the 2nd I keep media in)? Also the program you suggested will clean out any trojans as well or just malware?

You'll have to format everything. Virus/trojan could have made copies of itself on all your drives.
And yes, MBAM is really effective in cleaning various infections.
