So I have a bit of disposable income, about $300 at the moment. Here are my sepcs;

Corsair Air 540
WIndows 10 Pro 64-Bit
Hyper-X 8GB RAM 1866Mhz
Asus Z97-E 3.1 Mobo
Intel 4460 CPU
EVGA 1070 FTW ACX 3.0 GPU
EVGA Supernova G2 750w PSU
Acer 1080p 60hz 27"monitor

I'm trying to decide on going with the EVGA Step-Up to get a GTX 1080, or upgrade the other components around my 1070 (mobo, CPU, RAM) and then, later, planning on getting a 1440p monitor at 60hz or 1080p at 144hz monitor? Pls help.

Solution
maybe and i repeat, maybe your cpu to an i5 4690k or i7 4790k.
since your mobo is overclockable (dont forget an aftermarket cooler).

your GPU is super strong and can max out ultra on 2k.

i would get a new monitor (save up for a 2k 144hz monitor like the asus pg279q).
and see if you are happy with the results.
