Have tried to merge 4 partitions, all formatted, into one full drive partition

Hello: I have a drive (250 gb) with four partitions on it. I formatted each partition, and have tried to merge all the partitions into on whole drive partition, bu it dotesn't work. I have tried Paragon Partition Manager, and an Easus program. Thanks for any help. Ron

if they all blank, just delete all the partition and create 1 big one.
What file system did you format them?

The best way to do that with lower issues is backing up the needed files in another disk. Erase Partitions and create a single one. Reinstall OS and apps (if it is the boot drive/apps drive).

A number of the FREE versions of partition management programs do not possess merging capability. Frequently the commercial version of the program is necessary to attain this capability. Possibly that issue may be at play here.
