What's a solid Z170 MOBO for expandability?

Hello everyone, as the title implies i'm looking for a Z170 motherboard aimed at expandability. I need a MOBO that won't restrict me in any potential upgrades i will do to my system. No budget. Was thinking of the Z170-A by ASUS or the MAXIMUS VIII HERO.

Well, i was considering it too since it fits my needs, but i'd be grateful if you could explain to me something about multi-GPU configs. On the spec sheet it says it only supports quad-SLI and 3 way Crossfire. From my understanding that means it supports 2, 2 way SLI configs at the same time, or 1 2 way SLI config and not a 3 way SLI config. Same goes with Crossfire, it supports 1 2 way crossfire config and 1 3 way crossfire config but not 2, 2 way crossfire configs. Am i correct or terribly wrong? Sorry if this is confusing :p

Thanks PCI slots are really confusing me. :)

EDIT: It supports 2 way Crossfire right? Just to clarify.
