Greetings. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7800 GPU. I know it's fairly old but it wasn't used that much.
I was playing Europa Universalis 4 when all of a sudden I got a white screen and I couldn't do anything so I restarted.
After the restart, every time I got to the login menu, instead of the menu (after the circles spinning - I have Windows 10) I got a black screen that OSCILATED between pure black and display cable unplugged.
I reinstalled windows, reinstalled the drivers, went back to old drivers, nothing works. The GPU works if I boot in safe mode. So it's not "broken" per say. But whenever the PC connects to the internet and goes from "Standard Display Adapter" to getting its driver, it instantly switches to black screen and there is nothing I can do.
What happened? What can I do to fix it? I've swapped an older GeForce and the pc works so it's the GPU. But what could it be that it just suddenly decided to crash when the driver installs?
Please help me in any way you can, can't really afford a new GPU atm.
