my psu is 500w and i want to know if that i can buy a rx 470 and 8350 cpu without upgrading my psu

He's just fine and I own that power supply. It's reliable. Have it running two GTX 950 in SLI with an i5 4690k right now and have swapped it around a number of PCs including an overclocked G3258 with a GTX 970 and an i5 4590 with an HD 7950. It's been perfect through them all.

when I was building my PC I had same questions as I was reusing old parts and found this page. Add all the hardware parts and it will tell you what kind of stres it will cause on PSU.
