Im fairly worried i have short circuited my motherboard while installing it to a case. I am building my own pc so atm have no cpu or ram but i have seen many posts and videos about 'grounding' yourself before touching your motherboard. I have tried to switch my pc on (No cpu or ram) And no fans started to spin up, although a little led came on my graphics card. My psu works fine i tested it with a paperclip but am very concerned about my motherboard... Should my fans start up or not without any ram or a cpu, Please help

Solution

I would assume it is because there is no processor or memory. But then I've never had a reason to do something like that. I doubt you damaged anything, though.

I was just seeing if the fans and LED's would come on or the psu, no fan started. Should i be concerned about that or is it because the CPU and ram isn't installed?
